Asli Ekici was born in Izmir, Turkey in 1998 and currently lives in Istanbul. She was interested in theater from a young age. With a degree in Psychology, she completed a master's degree in dramatic writing at Kadir Has University in Istanbul and is writing a thesis on what it means to be an author of collective creation theater. She is the co-founder, author and director of the theater collective Reka Kolektif, which was formed in 2022. Her collective theater production 'Aşalım Bunları' can be seen at different stages in Istanbul. A play for adults published in the drama program and a play for children are currently being staged at the Nilüfer Municipal Theatre.

Currently she is devising the play The Messengers (Haberciler) with FKA (Fiziksel Tiyatro Araştırmaları) for the 2024 IKSV Theatre Festival.​
